Mommy and Daddy in awe of our newest addition

Dear Madeline & Caroline,

Well we finally got scheduled for an induction date on Oct 19th 2013 and your daddy and I couldn't of been more excited! We were finally semi settled in the new house, and now we were just waiting for ms. Caroline to arrive! The week before the induction we decided it was best for us to stay in Loudoun County close to hospital just in case she came early! I was trying everything under the moon to induce labor: Fresh pineapple, Spicy Food, Hot baths you name it, I tried it. On October 17th I woke up and went to work like any other day, and started feeling contractions all day. I wasn't sure if they were real so I didn't want to get to excited. I called your dad and I drove myself to the hospital after work. The nurse said my contractions were close but that I would probably be sent home because I was dilating fast enough, I was only 3cm. After walking the halls for 2 hours and your daddy sitting my by side she said that I was going home. I couldn't help but cry, I was in so much pain and I knew that you were coming today! The nurse called Dr. Mills who delivered Madeline, and I told her I didn't want to go home just to come back in the middle of the night. Once I was all hooked up to the machines, and officially checked in all the family came to visit. By this point it was almost 10pm so I told everyone to go home because they said that Caroline wouldn't be born until the next morning or at least after midnight. Well... after 20 mins of pushing Caroline Marie was born a happy and healthy baby at 10:40 pm weighing 7 lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.

Moving while FULL TERM

Dear Caroline,

Looking back at the month of September 2013 it was a total blur, things were happening so fast! We got approved for our new house and found out that we would be closing on October 4th. As of Oct 1st I would be full term, meaning that you could arrive at any minute. To make it more interesting? The weekend we moved, I also had a wedding order for the bakery, and trying to bake while the entire house in boxes and 9 months pregnant isn't the easiest of tasks. Your sister has  been such a doll with everything going on and all these new changes. I see a lot of myself in your sister, very easy going and go with the flow. Our house in Stephens city couldn't be more perfect, its huge!

36 Weeks and the loss of Gigi

May of 2013 last time we saw Gigi (just found out I was pregnant)
 Big sissy in Williamsburg
CHEESE!

Dear Caroline Marie,

We are getting SO close to meeting you sweet baby girl! Only 4 weeks from tomorrow till your due date!! I have been so blessed with such an easy pregnancy, only a few small hiccups in the beginning. Our friends and family threw you an amazing Sprinkle which was at a local restaurant. Surrounded by lots of love, we received pretty much everything we need to bring you into this world! I'm so excited to start working on your new nursery at the new house. Your sissy kisses my belly and gives you hugs almost daily, we are very excited to see the two of you grow up together! October 1st we start having our weekly appointments with the OB!

Your mimi flew out to Seattle the day after Caroline's Baby Sprinkle to go see Gigi, who wasn't doing very well. As much as I wanted to be there with her and the rest of the family, it just wasn't possible with your sissy due in just a few short weeks. Mimi called Sept 23rd late at night to inform us all that Gigi had passed away. It was one of the hardest things that I have ever heard, as she was one of the most caring and loving people that I know. She taught me almost everything I know today, and I am who I am because of her. I have fond memories of growing up at her house playing in the snow, going down town to go shopping and most of all baking. I hope that I can re create those same memories with you and your sissy. We love you Gigi and please watch over us and protect our girls.

29 weeks

Dear Caroline,

It is so amazing to see you on the sonogram, especially in 3D/4D.  We could see all your features and it instantly brought smiles to our faces. According to the tech you are in a breech position and your feet are over your head. So we are hoping in the next 10 weeks you move down to prep for delivery. We love you sweet girl. Only a few more weeks and you will be in our arms! We went on our annual trip to OBX this month! Lets just saying being pregnant and being stuck in the car for 6+ hours isn't the easiest thing to do, but I love feeling all your kicks and turns in my belly!

27 Weeks

Dear Baby Caroline,

I can't believe that we are already at week 27! My belly is getting quite big, but overall this pregnancy has been super easy! Your sister keeps me so busy that the weeks are just flying by! We have so much to do in the weeks that remain, but we are looking forward to week 30 when we get to see you again on the sonogram! This month we went to Williamsburg, and my belly sure is getting BIG! Fitting into a bathing suit isn't so easy these days, but its totally worth it! Can't wait to meet you sweet girl!

Love you baby girl!! Only 13 weeks left!

We finally have a plan for your nursery and its going to be a Navy & Pink theme!! Can't wait to actually start working on it! Time is flying by and you are going to be here before we know it! 16 Weeks

Dear Baby #2,

At 16 weeks we had our "gender" sono & they are pretty sure you are a GIRL! If so your name is going to be Caroline! The tech mentioned that my placenta is under you meaning that every kick and high five I will feel! Its the coolest feeling ever and hard to explain to others, your dad has even felt you moving and grooving in there! Although we both wanted a boy we are so excited for Madeline to have a sister so close in age! This just means in the future we will be trying for #3 but we are going to wait a bit until then. 20 weeks we go back to the OBGYN where they will measure you to make sure everything is growing like it should (20 weeks is a huge appointment for growth and stats) they will also confirm your gender. Either way we are excited and blessed to have two beautiful babies. Can't wait to meet you this fall!

    Love, Momma & Papa.
